Deployments
What happens when you deploy, and how a deploy succeeds or fails.
A deployment takes accepted input, builds it, checks it and moves traffic to it.
- 01Fetch source or image
- 02Build
- 03Health checks
- 04Release takes traffic
Stages
| Stage | What happens | Fails when |
|---|---|---|
| Fetch | Runtime fetches the repository or image using the application's credentials. | Credentials are missing, wrong or scoped to another application. |
| Build | id0n build workers build the application with your build settings. | The build fails, or a refused setting is present. |
| Check | Health checks run against the new release. | The service does not start or does not pass checks. |
| Release | The new release receives traffic. The previous release is kept for rollback. | n/a |
Build history
Each deploy is recorded. You can list recent builds, inspect one, read its output and cancel a build in progress. Old build records are removed automatically.
Deploys and configuration changes
Changing environment variables affects the running service only after a redeploy or restart. See Environment variables.
